Intro:
Our love story began about 7 years ago, we met and instantly bonded based on our values, dreams, goals, and our future, we moved-in after a year of dating, got our own place soon after, traveled some wonderful places together, planned our wedding (which unfortunately did not happen due to covid). Wedding planning has now taken a back seat to us, as we are preparing our hearts and home for a new little one that we hope to soon with time !
It cannot be overstated how family is very important to both of us. Having our own family one day has been a dream for both of us for a very long time. As being a same sex couple, we both have come to understand the importance of chosen family and creating familial relationships with those that we love. We understand how families can be challenging at times but also a source of unconditional love and support. We hope to provide the values and life lessons that we have achieved so far to our future little one and instill as much love and hope to them.
Clinton:
Clinton was born and raised in Vancouver and has three sisters (two older and one younger). He is very close to his family. He was raised in Mormon family and faced challenges growing up to find his own identity and place in the world. His challenges that he has faced has strengthened his desire to grow a family where tolerance of all people is cultivated and taught. He and Jay recently became God parents to his sister’s nephew and enjoying all the cute pictures and tummy time with him.
Clinton works as a Notary Public in Vancouver and enjoys the interaction with his clients. When not working, he loves to cook and watch cooking shows, go on outdoorsy adventures with Jay, connect with familyfriends, or watch random tv shows (a habit we picked up with the past year we had).
Jay:
Jay was born and raised in Pakistan, he has 5 siblings, and he is the second oldest of them. Like Clinton, Jay is very close to his family. With a hope of a better future, he moved to Canada 12 years ago to be himself and has slowly opened himself to his family.
Although coming from a Muslim faith family, he continuously shares his relationship and beliefs of family to his family, and they have been 100% supportive and love him unconditionally. Jay is also a recent uncle to two very adorable nephews who he loves very dearly and spoils.
Jay works as software engineer and is working full-time from home (yay for no more commute). In his free time he loves to bake, watching TV with Clinton (also educating him on rom-coms and musicals), facetiming family, go on outdoorsy adventures, read books and do yoga.
Our Embryos:
With the help of an amazing egg donor (age 27) who we are now very proud to call our friend, we have 5 beautiful PGS tested embryos that are ready to go at PCRM in Vancouver.
Our Hope:
We as IPs hope to meet an amazing person who will help us with the next step of our journey, and we will forever have a sense of gratitude for anyone who will consider or is willing to help us with this journey.
We have done research in understanding what is involved in this journey and are still ever so learning, but one thing we know for sure is that we are 100% committed to making our surrogates life as easy as possible through this journey and give all the support the surrogate needs.
We would love to be a part of this journey and be as involved with our surrogate at their comfort level (come to some appointments and grab food after, facetiming, calls etc). Our ideal match would be with someone from Canada who we click with and have a connection with), who would love to stay in-touch, sharing updates with, and send our Christmas family cards too (someone like a lifelong friend). But we also understand it might not be the same experience our surrogate may look for and so we would love to hear and understand what that looks for you, and like any relationship, we can communicate on what it looks like for our surrogate and shape it accordingly!!
Currently, we are hoping for an independent journey but if we click with someone we will totally join the agency of our surrogates liking.
Our Contact:
Please feel free to message us or reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns, would also love to hear from other IPIPs living in Vancouver about their experience.
❤
With Love,
Clinton and Jay
