FAQs for Intended Parents
We created MySurrogateMom as an independent surrogacy community to help intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors connect for free and start a life-changing journey.
We want to create a trusted and transparent surrogacy platform, providing all the support and resources they need to find their best possible matches.
We believe options are power, which is why we work with surrogates, intended parents, surrogacy agencies, and assisted reproductive attorneys and professionals to support you in your surrogacy journey.
No. MySurrogateMom is an online surrogacy community that connects surrogates, egg donors, and intended parents together, we have no direct affiliation with any surrogacy agency although agencies are allowed to advertise on our site.
Yes! We work with intended parents looking for the right match no matter whether they are already working with a surrogacy agency, would like to eventually work with an agency, or prefer to go the independent route. We understand surrogacy is not an easy journey, so we actually encourage IP’s to try to find a match in every possible way to increase their chances.
Surrogates and intended parents can create a profile for free.
Once they have created an account, you will be asked to complete your profile and upload a picture before you can access all community features (like classified ads and compliments).
The standard surrogacy journey for intended parents often results in lengthy (and costly) waiting times. MySurrogateMom wants to eliminate those pain points by connecting you directly with surrogates with mutual compatibility based on our advanced search tool.
Our trusted technology can help reduce the time it takes to find the right match.
No, there is no application fee. MySurrogateMom fees are only applicable once intended parents decide to upgrade to a premium membership and its advantages.
Our transparent pricing model dramatically lowers the cost of a match. You can see all the membership options here.
If for any reason you didn’t match within the duration of your premium membership, you can renew your membership subscription.
MySurrogateMom will never renew your premium membership without your consent.
While each surrogacy journey is unique, based on our internal stats, surrogates and intended parents find a match within months in MySurrogateMom Community. However, we are an online community, and it is beyond our control if parties decide to match.
This is why we created MySurrogateMom in the first place to get your surrogacy journey on its way faster and more transparently. You can find more information about the following steps in our blog.
Gestational surrogacy agreements are not legal in all 50 states. Surrogacy is legal in all states except for Nebraska, Louisiana, and Michigan.
We want to hear from you too. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out here.
FAQs for Surrogates
Women who want to become surrogates do so because they have a passion for helping others, love being pregnant, etc. The compensation is a nice added bonus, but not the main motivation as usually is not enough on its own to justify the potential risks and inconvenience of being pregnant.
You may or may not – it depends on what works best for you and your intended parents. If you don’t have your own medical insurance, your intended parents can purchase insurance plans under your name.
No, you don’t need an agency to find an intended parent. Around 30% of surrogacy journeys are completed without the help of agencies.
Agencies can provide many benefits to surrogates. They support you during your journey and they are in charge of matching you with your intended parents. However, the high fee agencies charge to the intended parents may limit the potential matches for you. At the same time, many surrogates prefer the flexibility of not having a third party involved in the process.
Having emotional support during a surrogacy journey is non-negotiable – it is essential for both intended parents and surrogates. An alternative to using an agency for emotional support would be to ask the intended parents to pay for a fertility counselor. You can also find many independent surrogacy Facebook groups with experienced surrogates that are always happy to support each other.
If you are 21-42 years old, carried at least one previous successful pregnancy, a U.S. / Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and in good health – you could qualify as a surrogate
No. A gestational carrier has no biological connection with the child. An embryo created from an egg and the sperm from the intended parents or donors are transferred to the surrogate via in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Within the traditional surrogacy model, surrogates often face a lack of close contact with the intended parents, and some steps are not as transparent as they should be.
With MySurrogateMom you are in control of your own journey, having access to a platform with hundreds of intended parents willing to complete their family right away.
MySurrogateMom provides the resources surrogates need to make an informed and healthy decision, ultimately leading to a connection with the right intended parents for them. This makes for a happier, more aligned, and more empowered journey for both parties.
Joining MySurrogateMom as a surrogate is completely free. However, all surrogates must pass a verification process.
This is a simple process to confirm your digital identity and can actually make it easier for you to find matches, keeping everyone protected while staying safe.
